Following the successful launch of our English school in Paddington, we are now setting up additional classes in West London, in partnership with West London Welcome and supported by the Daisy Trust.
We are seeking English teachers to hold classes twice per week, with a set time of 10:00-11:30am on Friday mornings in person in West London (near Baron’s Court tube) and second weekly class via Zoom (timing to be confirmed based on teacher availability).
These classes will run over the summer for 8 weeks from 8 July – 26 August (with trainings taking place the week of 27 June).
We are also seeking cover teachers to help with with classes in Paddington, Victoria and West London over the summer.
Experience required: We are seeking teachers with teaching qualifications (ideally TEFL (CELTA/DELTA) or ESOL) or significant experience teaching English as a foreign language.
Remuneration: £30 per session
Curriculum: We will be offering classes at beginners/elementary levels. We will be providing a course plan for all teachers to follow (allowing for some flexibility for teachers to adapt the plan if they wish). The course will be tailored to the needs of displaced Ukrainians who are new to London and the UK, centring around language skills necessary for day-to-day life (transport, seeing the doctor, going to the shop).
Training sessions: Ahead of the beginning of the term, we will be providing a training session for all teachers on the course plan (developed by Dave Watkins, professional ESOL teacher trainer). We will also be providing a trauma awareness training session. One session is already confirmed of Friday 1st July, 10am. Timings for two additional training sessions tbc.
