We are delighted to announce that Dr Rory Finnin has joined the board of trustees of the Ukrainian Institute London.

Dr Rory Finnin is the Founding Director of Cambridge Ukrainian Studies. Under Dr Finnin’s leadership, Cambridge Ukrainian Studies was made a permanent programme in 2010, enabling students to study Ukrainian language, culture, and history at the highest level for as long as the University exists.
Dr Finnin is a leading international expert on Ukraine. His primary research interest is the interplay of literature and national identity in Ukraine. He is also an expert on Crimean Tatar literature, and his new book Blood of Others: Stalin’s Crimean Atrocity and the Poetics of Solidarity will soon be coming out with University of Toronto Press.
There has never been a more important time to learn about Ukraine and to engage with its vibrant culture and society. Today, in Great Britain and beyond, the Ukrainian Institute London is reshaping and reinvigorating public knowledge about Ukraine with extraordinary vision, energy, and creativity. I am very excited and honoured to support this work as a Trustee.
Dr Rory Finnin
We have had the pleasure of working with Dr Finnin on several past projects: he joined as a seminar leader for our online course in Ukrainian Literature, his interview with Sasha Dovzhyk was a highlight of our London Ukrainian Review publication and we have had a successful collaboration with Cambridge Ukrainian Studies on our joint Ukrainian Film Festivals for two years running. We very much look forward to working closely with Dr Finnin moving forward, and to continuing to strengthen the work of the Ukrainian Institute London!
