Militantropos captures the human condition through the fractured realities of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The film assembles everyday lives transformed by war — those who flee, those who lose everything, and those who stay behind to resist and to fight — following both the instinct to survive and the need for closeness. The title joins the Latin milit (soldier) with the Greek anthropos (human), and names the figure a person becomes once war has absorbed them.
