The near future. Andriy Melnyk, a Ukrainian space trucker, hauls nuclear waste aboard a cargo ship to Callisto, an abandoned moon of Jupiter. During an otherwise routine flight the Earth explodes, and Andriy survives. He is left believing himself to be the last person in the universe — until Catherine, a French woman on a faraway space station, makes contact with him. Andriy decides to go and see her, despite every obstacle.
